About the Installation

 

Tidewoven is a site-specific sound installation created for Limerick People’s Park. Each of the four musical works corresponds to a cardinal direction- North, South, East, and West- and explores how sound, landscape, mythology, and memory shape our experience of place.

 

NORTH

 

The northern composition is grounded and reflective, echoing the solidity of Earth. Its sonic palette blends the bells of St Mary’s Cathedral, cannon-like resonance, sounds of horses  associated with King John’s Castle and footsteps tracing the historic paths of Limerick City Walls.
